A Letter from the Bishop's Lead Team; Advent Resources

Advent is just around the corner, and the Bishop’s Lead Team wishes everyone a very blessed Advent season. We continue to receive reports about people making professions of faith in Christ! We are encouraged about how pastors and congregations are being blessed with celebrations of new disciples.
Reaching 2400+ new people for Christ is our focus and priority of the West Virginia Conference this year. Thanks to all who join with us on this journey!
New disciples will find Advent especially exciting as the church prepares to celebrate the birth of the Christ child, and anticipate our Lord’s return.
During Advent the church rehearses the mystery of our Faith: Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again!
To help you celebrate Advent we wanted to share with you some resources to use in your church, or for your own personal devotion. Here are just a few recommendations we think you will enjoy:
God is in the Manger by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
The Redemption of Scrooge; by Matt Rawle
The Wonder of Christmas: Once you Believe Anything is Possible; by Ed Robb and Rob Renfroe

Down to Earth:  The Hopes and Fears are met in thee to night by Mike Slaughter
The Journey: Walking the Road to Bethlehem by Adam Hamilton
Christmas is not your Birthday; by Mike Slaughter
Advent Conspiracy
and of course our very own Advent Devotion booklet by our gifted laity throughout the Conference, which will be available daily via email.

We hope you will find these recommendations helpful. May God wonderfully bless you during this upcoming Advent season.
God’s peace to each of you,
Ken Krimmel
