• Bishop Steiner Ball welcomed Bishop Héctor Burgos Núñez, Bishop of the Upper New York Area.
• Ecumenical Greetings were brought by Rev. Alton Dillard, Presiding Elder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in West Virginia, who challenged us to “keep the covenant in front of you”.
• Rev. Jeff Allen, Director of the WV Council of Churches, reported on the Council’s vital ministry across the state.
• A Conference Rules amendment was adopted so that all amendments become effective at the close of the Annual Conference session unless otherwise indicated.
• The Nominations Report was presented by Rev. Lauren Godwin, chair.
• Bishop Steiner Ball delivered the State of the Church Address, acknowledging the grief of the past year, celebrating glory sightings throughout the Conference, and inspiring us to a passionate refocusing on mission and ministry.
• The Thursdays in Black Campaign of the World Council of Churches was presented to raise awareness in people of faith and encourage them to speak out against sexual and gender-based violence.
• Bishop Steiner Ball and Bishop Burgos Nunez shared an apology on behalf of the General Commission on the Status and Role of Women to those harmed by sexual misconduct.

Friday

• The Board of Ordained Ministry reported on a referral of last year’s resolution 2023-08.
• The Board of Pensions Report was adopted. An amendment to change the 2025 health insurance rate for those retiring after July 1, 2021, younger than 65, was not adopted.
• The Equitable Compensation Report, with its recommendation of a 2% increase to the minimum salary for full-time clergy in 2025, was adopted. An amendment to change the amount to a 5% increase was not adopted.
• The Conference Trustees’ report and recommendation to establish the “Senior Ministries Grant Fund” from the proceeds of the sale of GlenWood Park was adopted. The fund will be held at the United Methodist Foundation, with grants made to support ministries to improve the lives of seniors and those with disabilities.
• The Disaster Response Policy was adopted.
• The slate of Jurisdictional Pool nominations was adopted.
• The Lay Ministry Team with the new Conference Lay Leader and Associate Lay Leaders was elected.
• The resolution A Sustainable Food System for Coalfield Communities was adopted.
• The title and language of the proposed Resolution Regarding our Attitude toward Former United Methodists who Are Now Members of Churches of Other Denominations was amended. The amended Resolution Regarding the Recognition of Former and Current United Methodists as Siblings in Christ was adopted.
• The Resolution Regarding the Teaching of United Methodist Doctrine was adopted.
• The resolution Worldwide Regionalization: Expressing Gratitude and Commitment to Next Steps was adopted.

• The Consent Calendar was adopted.
• A substituted and amended Resolution for Affirming the Holy Bible As Our Primary Rule and Guide for Faith and Practice was adopted.
• The Resolution for 2024 West Virginia Annual Conference Regarding Peace in Gaza and Israel was amended and adopted.
