June is here and our wonderful Annual Conference is over for another year.  We were inspired by clergy and lay persons to start this year’s journey a stronger and more empowered Conference. Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God. Colossians 3:17

Our United Methodist Heritage

This resource traces our denomination from the Protestant Reformation through the 1968 union that formed the United Methodist Church.  Remember our history as we move forward in the Conference Quadrennial Emphasis on Evangelism. This favorite resource now on DVD, is produced by United Methodist Communications and includes a leaders guide.

Wesley and His Times

“Faith is God’s work in us.” – Martin Luther

The Wesleyan movement was founded in England when John Wesley, his younger brother Charles, and others started Methodist societies to reach out to the poor, un-churched and imprisoned. The quote of Martin Luther inspired him to preach anywhere people would listen. This film compares the social problems of Wesley’s England and those of our own time. It is an excerpt from the motion picture John Wesley. Y – A, 15 minutes.

More than Bows and Arrows

This DVD will be used for Conference Schools of Mission for 2008. The history of the indigenous people of America pre-dates the European discovery of the New World by thousands of years. This film is a comprehensive look at the past and present contributions of Native Americans to the culture of the country we share. It’s an excellent resource for a race relations study and a powerful lesson in American history. Y – A, 30 minutes.

The Good Mind

The Good Mind focuses on the concepts and symbols of Native American religions. On location interviews discuss tribal heritage and show how belief translates into practice.   Y-A, 26 minutes.

The Animated Passion Trilogy
