Disaster Relief

Conference Level Response
Disaster response ministry demonstrates a core Christian value: caring for people affected by sudden emergencies. Our Conference disaster response coordinators help assess needs in the days following a disaster, recruit work teams, and help organize and collect materials such as cleaning buckets, health kits, and other materials as needed.

You Can Help
Inside the Disaster Response trailer, are all the tools a crew needs to help people affected by a natural disaster or other emergency. Because of the trailer, the crew is also self-sufficient, so they're not using scarce resources like housing and food. You can donate items for the trailer - download the list here.

Cleaning buckets and health kits are always needed. You can find instructions on how to prepare them here.

The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the not-for-profit global humanitarian aid organization of the United Methodist Church.  UMCOR is working in more than 80 countries worldwide, including the United States.  Our mission, grounded in the teachings of Jesus, is to alleviate human suffering—whether caused by war, conflict or natural disaster, with open hearts and minds to all people.

UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters that are interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own.

UMCOR receives significant support from annual One Great Hour of Sharing offerings, a great example of how connectional giving can change the world.  Learn more about connectional giving here.
